A GUIDE FOR FANS AND COLLECTORS
Comic, Anime & TCG Conventions in the United States

Comic and pop culture conventions
These shows often combine comics, artists, collectibles, cosplay and guest appearances. Check the announced activities for each event; a convention name alone does not tell you which guests or experiences are included.
Anime conventions
Anime-focused events may feature voice actors, merchandise, artists and cosplay. Review guest appearance schedules and any separate autograph or photo charges before you buy a ticket.
TCG conventions and card shows
Trading card events bring collectors and vendors together around singles, sealed products, sports cards, supplies and collectibles. Organized tournaments and grading services vary, so confirm those details directly with the organizer.
Collectibles events
Look for the categories you collect: toys, comics, anime merchandise, cards or art. Check vendor announcements and floor plans where available to decide whether the show fits your interests.
Choose a show before booking travel
- Confirm the event date, local start and end times, and full venue address on the organizer’s website.
- Check ticket prices, age bands, refund terms and whether any activities require a separate ticket.
- Review announced guests and vendors. Confirm the day a guest is appearing.
- Plan parking, transportation and accommodations around the actual venue.
- Recheck announcements before departure in case the schedule changes.
What to bring to a trading card convention
Bring a manageable want list, protective sleeves or cases, a secure bag and any cards you plan to trade. Check payment options in advance. For a trade, agree on condition and value with the other collector before completing it.
Preparing as a vendor
Read the event’s application and booth terms, confirm load-in times and table dimensions, label prices clearly, and plan how you will take payments and protect inventory. Use the organizer’s approved application rather than an unsolicited message offering space.
